A place where great sound and genuine hospitality meet.

Based in beautifully converted stables between Chichester and Petworth, we’ve created a relaxed, welcoming space to experience what high-end audio is really capable of. No pushy sales talk, no gimmicks, just great music, honest advice and products we know and love.

Every system we build is personal. Whether you’re rediscovering your record collection or streaming something new, we’ll help you get the best from it in a way that fits your taste, your room and your life.

We hand-pick what we sell and only recommend what we truly believe in. Trade-in options are available subject to conditions. When you’re ready, we can personally deliver and install your system anywhere in the UK.

So take your time. Have a coffee, listen, explore and enjoy. That’s what The Department of Music is all about.
